It is more common than you would think, and usually more fixable than it feels. We help with overdue returns, late filing penalties and HMRC enquiries, with no judgement.
Questions we are often asked
Do you only work with people in Glasgow?
No. We are based in Glasgow and our clients are right across the UK. Everything runs by email, WhatsApp and phone or video call.
Do limited companies cost more?
Not automatically. Plenty of tradespeople operate through a limited company and their books are no more complicated. We price on the work involved, so you only pay for what you need.
How does the free offer work?
Join one of our monthly plans and your first two months are free, with no upfront cost. Get in touch and we will confirm the details for your situation.
Which plan is right for me?
If you have a job and some extra income on the side, Side Hustle is our lowest rate. If self-employment is your main income, Sole Trader covers you. Letting out property? Landlord is priced per property. If you run a limited company, we quote for the work actually involved, so a one-person trade is not charged like a complex business. Not sure? Ask and we will point you to the right one.
When is the self assessment deadline?
Online returns and payment are due by 31 January after the end of the tax year. A tax year runs from 6 April to 5 April. If you are new to self assessment, you must register by 5 October after the end of the tax year.
What is a 60 day property return?
If you sell a UK residential property and there is Capital Gains Tax to pay, you generally have to report the sale and pay the tax within 60 days of completion. We prepare and file it for you.
I have missed a deadline. What now?
Do not wait. Get in touch and we will establish what is outstanding, get it filed and look at whether the penalty can be reduced or appealed.
